Learning to drive in an automatic car can make the experience a whole lot easier and much quicker. You may well need a lot fewer lessons compared to learning in a Manual car. Your time and effort can be focused on co-ordination between your right foot and hands, removing the third step of co-ordinating the gear selection and clutch control. People of all age ranges and abilities can learn to drive in an automatic car.
Automatic cars have no clutch pedal, all you have is a brake pedal and an accelerator(gas) pedal. Once you put the car in 'D' (Drive), all your problems of choosing and selecting gears to match the speed are gone. Now you can just concentrate on the road ahead. And the best bit when learning is that automatic cars cannot stall.
NO CLUTCH, NO GEARS, NO FEARS !
Additionally as technology moves forward, more and more cars are now available as AUTOMATICS. Hybrid and electric powered cars are all AUTOMATIC and as they become better and more popular there will be less need to drive manual cars.
Please note that if you take you Driving Test in an Automatic car you will not be allowed to drive a manual car on your own until you have a passed a L manual Test.
